Cluster C Personality Disorders

The Cluster C Personality Disorders Section is comprised of the following subsections:
  • Avoidant Personality Disorder
    The essential feature of Avoidant Personality Disorder is a pervasive pattern of social inhibition, feelings of inadequacy, and hypersensitivity to negative evaluation that begins by early adulthood and is present in a variety of contexts.
  • Dependent Personality Disorder
    The essential feature of Dependent Personality Disorder is a pervasive and excessive need to be taken care of that leads to submissive and clinging behavior and fears of separation.
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder
    The essential feature of Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder is a preoccupation with orderliness, perfectionism, and mental and interpersonal control, at the expense of flexibility, openness, and efficiency.
  • Personality Disorder Not Otherwise Specified
    This category is for disorders of personality functioning (refer to the general diagnostic criteria for a Personality Disorder) that do not meet criteria for any specific Personality Disorder.
