Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a disorder usually
diagnosed in childhood or adolescence characterized by a persistent
pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity that is more frequent and
severe than expected for the individual's age or level of development.
Symptoms of ADHD include:
- Failure to give close attention to details
- Careless mistakes in schoolwork, work, or other activities
- Difficulty sustaining attention in tasks or play activities
- Inability to finish schoolwork, chores, or duties in the workplace
- Difficulty organizing tasks or activities
- Avoidance or dislike of tasks that require sustained mental effort
- Forgetfulness in daily activities
