Dysthymic disorder (chronic depression) is a mood disorder characterized
by prolonged periods of two years or longer in which an individual feels
sad, depressed, or "down in the dumps" nearly everyday. Symptoms of
dysthymia include:
- Poor appetite or overeating
- Insomnia or hypersomnia
- Low energy or fatigue
- Low self-esteem or self criticism
- Poor concentration or difficulty making decisions
- Loss of interest
